William F. Csisar Jr.

Suffolk - LCDR William F, "Bill" Csisar Jr, USCGR Ret, (75), went home to his Lord on November 7. Freed from a long illness, Bill passed peacefully with family by his side.

Born in Pawtucket, RI, a son of the late William F. Csisar Sr and Christina White Csisar, he was a long-time resident of Cumberland, RI before moving to Suffolk in 2008. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Elaine Gaudreau Csisar of Suffolk, brother, James G. Csisar of Mystic CT, and sons CAPT William F. Csisar III, USCGR of Suffolk, and Steven M. Csisar of Smithfield, RI. He was also beloved by five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Bill enlisted in the Coast Guard Reserve in 1958, serving honorably in a variety of reserve and active duty positions until his retirement in 1999. His assignments included tours as Commanding Officer at USCG Reserve Station Castle Hill and USCG Maintenance and Repair Unit Cape Cod. In his civilian career, Bill was a long-time sales manager for coffee manufacturer Autocrat Inc of Lincoln, RI. He was a graduate of Roger William College.

A Liturgy of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on November 28th at the Church of St. Therese, 4137 Portsmouth Blvd, Chesapeake. The family will receive friends after the celebration at St. Therese. An inurnment with military honors will be held at the Albert G. Horton Veteran's Cemetery, 5310 Milners Rd, Suffolk at 2:00 PM on November 24th.
