Margaret Stutzenberger

1936 - 2023

Margaret (Roby) Stutzenberger 86, of Louisville, passed peacefully into the presence of the Lord on March 30, 2023, with family at her side.
A beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Margaret was born October 3, 1936, to Ola and Thelma (Philpot) Roby in Shepherdsville, KY. In 1960, she married Wayne Stutzenberger, with whom she shared 61 wonderful years. Together they raised three children and became the hub of family activities, where everyone gathered for regular visits and to celebrate holidays and milestones.
With degrees from Kentucky Baptist School of Nursing (BSN), Spalding University (MA) and the University of Portland (MSN), Margaret had a long career as a nursing educator. In 1980, Margaret and Wayne moved to Powell, Wyoming, where Margaret taught nursing at Northwest College before returning to Kentucky in 1995.
Baptized in a local creek as a child, Margaret was a faithful woman of God. Bedbound for the last several years, Margaret kept her Bible at her side and enjoyed daily devotionals. She and Wayne were fans of Bill and Gloria Gaither and enjoyed their library of Gaither concert videos.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wayne; and son, Todd Stutzenberger.
Margaret is survived by her daughter, Linda Baker; son, Terry Stutzenberger (Robin); her five grandchildren, Jarett Stutzenberger (Johnisha), Amber Gensheimer (Drew), Casey Stutzenberger (Jessica), Devon Skinner (Nate) and Samaria Stutzenberger; 9 great-grandchildren, Todd (Autumn), Jesiah, Jamaria, Haleigh, Kylee, Olivia, Wyatt, Maggie and Landon; one great-great-granddaughter, Amirrah; and sister, Anita Roby.
The celebration of her life will be at the Schoppenhorst Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home, 123 Winning Colors Dr., Mt. Washington, KY 40047 at 10:30 am on Friday, April 7, 2023 with entombment at Resthaven Memorial Park. Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday from 4:00 pm Ð 8:00 pm and Friday from 9:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
