Amelia Janssen BENSON – Amelia G. Janssen, 88, of Benson, IL, passed away at 9:27 a.m. on Saturday July 22, 2017, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. She was born on October 5, 1928, in Tilden, Nebraska to Theodore and Marie Harms Budde. She married Carl I. Janssen on January 25, 1948, in Minonk. He passed away on March 1, 2001. Surviving are three sons, Rick (Mary Ann) Janssen of Benson, IL, Fred (Cheri) Janssen of Roanoke, IL, Jim (Gretchen) Janssen of Benson, IL; one daughter, Alycia (David) Zoss of Roanoke, IL; one brother, Henry (Linda) Budde of Minonk; two sisters, Hilda Oltman and Esther Decker, both of Streator; five grandsons, Troy (Jen), Craig (Laura), Brett, Nick, Cole Janssen; two granddaughters, Lindsey (Jordan) Botelho, Haley (Matt Rogers) Zoss; two great-grandsons, Tucker and Finn Janssen; two great-granddaughters, Reese and Reagan Janssen; two stepgranddaughters, Stacey (Steve) Young, Aimee (Brian) Tuttoilmondo; and four stepgreat grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Joey Janssen, one brother, Herman Budde, and one sister, Bertha Decker. Of the many things she enjoyed in life, her favorites were gardening and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Evangelical Church in Benson, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 26th. Visitation will be held at Knapp-Johnson-Harris Funeral Home in Roanoke from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday and from 9-9:45 a.m. on Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Clayton Township Cemetery, Benson, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or to the Apostolic Christian Home of Roanoke.
