FARMINGTON - Amerigo "Muggs" Argei, 87, of 23162 E. Park Road, Farmington, Ill., passed away at 5:45 a.m. Thursday, June 17, 2010, at the Farmington Country Manor.
He was born on June 2, 1923, to Argeo and Annunziata Bigliazzi Argei. Muggs married Charlotte Morgan in 1948 in Missouri. She survives along with one sister, Gena Pari of Pekin, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother and one sister.
Muggs was a World War II Army veteran, serving in the medical corps.
He worked at CILCO as a lineman for 32 years and was a member of the American Legion, where he was a past commander, past vice commander and adjutant; a member of the Farmington Moose; VFW of Elmwood; NRA; IBEW for 60 years; an avid outdoorsman; and strong supporter of his community.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, June 21, at the Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior to services. The Rev. Rick Atchley will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Farmington.
Memorials may be made to the Farmington Rescue Squad.
