PEKIN - Anna Shanklin, 90, of Pekin passed away at 10:56 a.m. Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, at her home at the Grand Victorian of Pekin.
Anna was born on Jan. 18, 1922, in Anleng, Germany, to Frank and Anna Neulinger. She married Fred Shanklin on Sept. 29, 1945, in Pekin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred; and one brother, Frank Neulinger.
Anna is survived by three daughters, Carol (Arlyn) Musselman of Delavan, Rosemary Tebben of Pekin and Kathy (Curt) Goeken of Green Valley; seven grandchildren, Julie Reiling, Cara Fast, Chris Musselman, Shannon Tebben-Sandoval, Sara Bryant, Amanda Feilner and Katlyn Goeken; 12 great-grandchildren; one brother, Fred Kalhammer of Manito; and one sister, Mary (Robert) Becker of Pekin.
Anna was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ. She was very active in church activities, HEA and also the Tazewell County 4-H.
She enjoyed gardening and spending time with friends and neighbors.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at St. Paul United Church of Christ, with visitation from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Pastor Dwight Borden will officiate. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. There will be a gathering at the Pekin Moose Lodge Family Center, 2605 Broadway St., Pekin, immediately following the committal service at the cemetery. Henderson Funeral Home in Pekin is assisting Anna's family with arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul United Church of Christ in Pekin.
