Cassandra Calhoun Obituary
METAMORA - Cassandra "Cassie" D. Calhoun, 20, of Metamora, Ill., died at 12:20 p.m. Monday, April 8, 2013.
She was born on Sept. 24, 1992, in Peoria, Ill., to Andy and Tammy Kimbrell Calhoun.
Surviving are her parents of Metamora; paternal grandmother, Marjorie Calhoun of East Peoria; maternal grandmother, Janice Pasnokot of Belleville; maternal grandfather, Charles Kimbrell of Troy; two sisters, Rebecca Calhoun and Amanda Calhoun, and one brother, Matthew Calhoun, all of Metamora; her fiance, Eric Jones of Peoria; and many other relatives in her extended family who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grand- father, Everett Calhoun.
Cassie graduated from Metamora Township High School in 2011. She attended Northern Illinois University in Dekalb and Illinois Central College.
Cassie was currently employed as a manager in food service at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.
She was a member of Kairos Bible Fellowship in Washington.
Cassie had a gift for illustration, drama and writing stories.
She was involved in Corn Stock Theatre, Peoria Players, track, and was the flute captain in the band.
Cassie was a girl with a big heart who loved deeply. She was a very compassionate, free-spirited person who loved nature, animals and the beauty of the earth.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 13, 2013, at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington. Pastor Don Whitman will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2013, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Metamora Township High School Art & Music Department or to a charity of the donor's choice.

I had the pleasure of knowing Cassie through my daughter Nattie, she came to visit us at our home and through all the band dates cassie became a common site, she had the most beautiful free spirit, charming ways, captivating smile. She was such a talented girl in music and with art , I can say ,I enjoyed that she shared this with us and all really , God blessed us by letting us get to know her . we will all miss you Cassie may you rest in peace knowing you were loved by so many of us.
