PEORIA - Cecil Ray Allen, 61, of 1327 N. Bestor St., Peoria, passed away at 9:15 p.m. on Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center's emergency room.
He was born on Sept. 15, 1948, in Peoria to James A. and Erma J. Mott Allen. He married Carolyn S. Clarkson on Dec. 1, 1973, in Peoria.
She survives along with six children, Michael Clarkson, Larry (Niki) Clarkson of Creve Coeur, Randy (Erin) Clarkson of Pekin, and James (Fifi) Allen, Rebecca Allen, and Jonathon Allen, all of Peoria; 10 grandchildren; and one sister, Sharon (Charles) Crank of Bartonville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Renee Shutts; and one granddaughter, Makenna.
Cecil had been self-employed as a mechanic and doing carpentry and remodeling work in the Peoria area.
He liked to hunt and fish.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 28, 2010, at 3 p.m. at Schmidt-Haller Burial and Cremation Services, 1625 Candletree Drive, Peoria. The Rev. Ronald Stewart will officiate. Cremation rites will then be accorded. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday prior to the service.
Memorials may be made to the OSF Oncology Dept., c/o Illinois Cancer Care, 8940 N. Wood Sage Road, Peoria, IL 61615.

We are so sorry to hear of Cecil's passing. We would see hin every Monday when he came for his treatment at Illinois Cancer Care. He had a great attitude and will be truly missed.
