Charlene J. Joesting
PEKIN - Charlene J. Joesting 93, of Pekin passed away at 4:40 am Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at Heritage Health-Therapy and Senior Care in Hoopeston, IL.
Charlene was born to Charles and Helen (Soechtig) Clarke on August 3, 1927. She married Frederick "Fritz" Joesting on October 10, 1948. He preceded her in death on July 10, 2003.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Jeff Joesting; grandson, Nicholas Joesting; sister, Marilyn Clarke; and son-in-law Mark Neil.
Charlene is survived by two sons, Clark (Kelly) Joesting of Johnston, Rhode Island, Kim (Chris) Joesting of Pekin; one daughter, Julie Neil of Danville, IL; fourteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren.
Charlene was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ. She worked in the Guidance office at Pekin Community High School and then at the Tazewell County Courthouse retiring in 1990. She enjoyed playing golf and bridge with her friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Monday, June 28, 2021 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory 2131 Velde Dr., Pekin, with Rev. Dr. Forrest Krummel Jr. officiating. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 AM Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be directed to St. Paul United Church of Christ.
