BARTONVILLE - Charles H.A. Partlow, 71, of Bartonville passed away at 4:07 p.m. Thursday, July 1, 2010, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born Sept. 23, 1938, in Bartonville to Edgar H. and Mildred G. (Hogan) Partlow. He married Sharon L. Newell in Bartonville on March 17, 1962. She survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Marla C. (and Fred) Kerrn of Mapleton, Charla E. (and Dan) Zinke of Wisconsin Dells, Wis., and Charmin JC (and Guy) Hibberd of Bartonville; seven grandchildren, Derrick (and Renee), Brandon (and Danielle), Chad, Brittney, Alec, Braxton and Benjamin; five great-grandchildren, Hailey, Arianna, Sade, Owen and Ava; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother, Edgar Partlow Jr.; and one sister, MaryAnn Crumby-Partlow.
Charles worked as a journeyman wireman for IBEW Local 34 for 39 years before retiring.
He was a United States Army veteran.
He was the manager of many Bartonville men's slowpitch softball teams, and was an avid Cardinals fan and loved to read. He loved to build model airplanes and ships for his grandkids. He was a very loving man whose greatest joy in life was spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. He will be dearly missed.
Cremation has been accorded. Memorial services will be at noon on Monday, July 5, 2010, at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel in Bartonville. Family will receive friends one hour before services on Monday at the chapel.
Memorials may be made to the Limestone Youth Baseball League or donor's choice.
