Sofia and family

I just goggled George's name and came upon this message. Even after so many years since My AMF(L) days in Germany, I still remember him fondly and as a mentor. I also recall visiting with George's aunt in Pordenone, Italy, when we were there on a NATO exercise.

I feel your loss and offer my late condolences. Peace be with you and your family, even after 4 years.

God Bless!

Please accept my late condolences in regards to your husband, the late Colonel George Basso .  He was my Company Commander in Bamberg, Germany, Company A 1st Battalion 54th Infanfry .

I was his Company Armorer , Sgt PJ Camacho , left as a Staff Sergeant .   I never forget Col. Basso´s leadership and ways he renew a broken down company and molded this company into a well trained ready company of readiness, togetherness , with courage and faith .

I come across this late information about Colonel Basso´s passing through another member from the former 54th infantry and it sadden my heart by this his death .

I learned a lot from Colonel Basso ( Former Captain Bassi).  Because I never had a father figure in my life .  Even though the military was my farther my type of guidance.

But I also remember 1st SG Mcglaughlin  who was a very Christian man as well as Col Basso .  Now I am an Ordained Christian Reverend/ Chaplain who renders the love of our spiritual Father God , Lord Jesus Christ and render and teach those in need of help .

But I give credit to God , Col Basso and 1SG McGlaughlin  for giving me the guidance and tools that I needed in my faith and continuing on for God , my former Captain ( Col Basso ) and my 1SG Mac .  They pave the way to enhancing my faith and in " Never Giving Up " and " Never Surrender ".

My memories of Col George Basso , Co A 1st Battalion 54th Infantry will always be engraved in my heart .

God Bless You Mrs Sofia Basso and may Col Basso Rest In Peace until we meet again In a different state , when God wills this to happen in his kingdom of Heaven.

Sofia
So sorry for your loss. You and George came to my aid, in my time of need. I always enjoyed how you spoke so highly of him at work. George was a great example of a husband, family man, father, grandfather, and soldier. It was an honor to have known him, and I looked up to him. RIP Col. Basso, I salute you. My condolences to all your family. If you need anything let me know.
