Edward Hazelman Obituary
PEKIN - Edward L. Hazelman, 71, of Lake Placid, Fla., and Pekin, passed away and went to be with his Lord early Sunday morning, Jan. 24, 2016.
He was born March 18, 1944, in Pekin to Oscar and Alice Luick Hazelman. He married Patricia Waldo on June 19, 1965, in Peoria.
Surviving are his loving wife of 50 years, Patricia Hazelman; one daughter, Debra (Todd) Weir of Normal; one son, Doug Hazelman of St. Petersburg, Fla.; three grandchildren; and one brother, Floyd Hazelman of Tremont.
Ed served his country with honors in the U.S. Army.
He worked at Caterpillar, Inc. for 35 years as a computer systems analyst.
Ed and his wife started wintering in Lake Placid, Fla., in 2001. He enjoyed fishing and a good round of golf and loved to be with his family and friends.
He was a member of Tremont Baptist Church, where he attended in the summers, and attended the Memorials United Methodist Church in Lake Placid. He was a member of Pekin Moose Lodge and Tremont American Legion Post 1236.
A memorial service to celebrate his life was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016, at Scott Funeral Home, 504 W. Interlake Blvd., Lake Placid. The Rev. Tim Haas officiated. Local services will be held in Tremont in the spring.

So sorry to learn of Ed's passing. He and I were Supervisors in the same division in the 90's at Morton. He helped me more than I realized at the time and gave me some great advice, not only job-related but personal as well.

Condolences to the Family. Ed was my supervisor in mid 70;s when I was computer programmer. Ed helped me more than I knew at the time, glad I realized it later and thanked him for his mentorship.
