EUREKA - Fred "James" Quast, 49, of Eureka, Ill., passed away at 8:56 a.m. on Saturday, April 10, 2010, at Advocate Eureka Community Hospital.
He was born on Oct. 26, 1960, in Peoria, Ill., a son of Darrell Lee and Elizabeth Anne Super Quast.
Survivors include three brothers, John (Phyllis) Quast of Goodfield, and Joe (Sally) Quast and Jack Quast, both of Eureka; two sisters, Jean (Randy) Miller and Jenae (Andy) Snyder, both of Eureka; numerous nieces and nephews; and constant K-9 companion, Brodie. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was a lifelong farmer in Eureka and worked for Eureka Disposal since 1993.
Fred was a member of the Congerville Gun Club and the Woodford County Farm Bureau. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved animals. He was a great brother, friend and uncle and will be greatly missed by everybody.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 14, 2010, at the Eureka United Methodist Church. The Rev. Ron Martz will officiate. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 13, 2010, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka and one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday. Cremation will be accorded following services.
Following services on Wednesday, family will receive friends at the American Legion Post 466 in Eureka.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Congerville Gun Club.
