PEKIN - Harlie L. Brosman Jr., 80, of Sheffield, formerly of Dunlap, Edelstein, Paris and Marshall, passed away at 9:35 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, 2007, at the home of his son in Pekin.
He was born July 14, 1927, in Denver, Colo., the son of Harlie L. Brosman Sr. and Nina V. Cunningham Brosman. He married Dorothy Ann Gill on June 6, 1953, in Paris, Ill. She preceded him in death on May 12, 1999.
He and his wife owned and operated restaurants in Peoria and Bureau counties for 40 years.
Surviving are two daughters, Debra (Darwin) Koehler of Princeton and Karen (George) VanHoorebeke of Pontiac; two sons, Harlie Randall (Karen) of Pekin and Tim (Diane) of Dunlap; a sister, Jennie L. Brosman of Lincoln; a brother-in-law, John Waltz of Chrisman; a sister-in-law, Lois Brosman of Marshall; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Deema Waltz; and two brothers, Jerry and Vernon.
His family returned to Clark County in 1929 and he was a graduate of Marshall High School.
Harlie was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. today at Pearce Funeral Home of Marshall, with the Rev. David Deal officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery at Martinsville. Visitation will be after 12 noon today at the funeral home.
