James "Jim" R. Goble
PEORIA - James R Goble, 67, of Peoria passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, surrounded by loved ones, after a long battle with Lewy Body Dementia.
Jim was born on October 27, 1953, to James and Norma (Leucht) Goble in Peoria, IL. Jim was a graduate of Peoria High School and Illinois State University, with a BS in Industrial Technology. He worked as a software engineer at various companies throughout his career.
Music was a passion for Jim from a very young age. He loved a wide variety of musical styles and was a talented guitarist and bass player. He played in several bands/musical groups through the years. Jim taught guitar to many young people and enjoyed seeking out new fringe bands and going to live performances. In his later years, Jim developed an interest in painting. He loved animals and being in nature. Jim was a kind and gentle soul. He approached life with a wide-eyed optimism that will be missed by all who knew him.
Jim is survived by his wife of 24 years, Janice McSherry; daughter, Katie (Jason) Banfield of Madison, WI; two granddaughters, Rose and Ella; brother, Robert (Janet) Goble of Knoxville, TN; and a niece, nephews and many close friends.

Janice and family, I am so very sorry for your loss. Although I only met Jim a few times, he was a warm and caring person and a wonderful host at the family reunion held at your house. May the promise of our living Savior bring you comfort. Much love to all.
