WASHINGTON - James Morlan Howell III, 39, of Washington passed away at 2:46 p.m. Friday, May 18, 2012, in the emergency room at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was the beloved husband of Jessica Linville Howell and the devoted father of Jasmine Howell. Born Jan. 7, 1973, in Peoria to James and Connie (Meyers) Howell Jr., he married Jessica Linville on June 7, 2010, in Peoria.
He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Jasmine Howell of Washington; his mother of East Peoria; father of New York; grandmother, Pat Purdy of Moline; two sisters, Nicole and Starr Howell; one brother, Tyler Howell; and many cousins and aunts and uncles.
James was preceded in death by his grandparents, James Howell Sr., Sandy Meyers and Delores Vaughn.
A truck driver for 23 years, he was employed by Nanninga Trucking Company in Mineral, last working in 2008.
James was an avid Dale Earnhardt Jr. NASCAR fan and enjoyed riding his Harley.
A devoted family man, he will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
James' funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
Memorial contributions may be made to trust funds which have been established for Jasmine Howell at CEFCU and Regions Bank, both in Morton.

I am so sorry to hear about your son. It was just recently that I saw the two of you together at the Country Saloon and I thought how cool it was for a young man to be hanging out with his Mom. I had not seen him since he was a little boy, but he looked so much like you that I recognized him. I wish you strength to get through this very difficult time in your life.
