Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. We had only seen Jim a couple of times over the last several years but he and Jack were the best of buddies when they were younger.

From the Helmantoler family in San Diego, our condolences to Jim's family. My Dad, his uncle Johnny, used to ride motorcycles with him, his brother Jackie Joe, and Uncle Jack back in the late 40's. They would ride up into our gravel driveway late at night, knock on the door, Mom and Dad would get out of bed and drink coffee with them until the wee hours of the morning. Time didn't matter at all....was nothing more or less than family coming to visit. As I recall, Jim rode an Indian motorcycle then...but my Dad, Uncle Jack and Jackie Joe rode Harleys. Jim would have been about 14-15 years old then. We moved to Calif. in the early 50's...I don't recall ever seeing Jim after that, but certainly heard about him from time to time. Now he's in God's hand....peace to him and his family. God bless them all.

Knew Jim quite well back in school. Limestome opened Oct 14, 1953, with a gathering from all around the Bartonville area, into the new #310 district. My friend up the street, Bill Noe, and I played sand lot baseball behind my home, when I first met Jim as a teenager in 8th grade. They both inspired me to play baseball in my freshman year at Trewyn in the southend of Peoria. If not for Limestone, I would have gone on to Manual.
After LCHS opened that fall, Bill, myself, Dale and Chuck Binegar, Jim and Kenny Rhoads, all piled into Bill Noe's car and drove to school. Chuck and I were sophmores, but the jocks, who were into football and basketball hung out more together. I wasn't sport material until track season. We still rode together just the same.
Later, after my stint in the Air Force, from graduation in 56 to 1962, I missed out on our frienship all with each other. I came home and went to work at Keystone, finally running into Jim. Seemed like many grads from LCHS worked at Keystone, all crossing paths in the plant one way or another. The Bartonville Fish Fry was another way to rekindle friendships.
I am sorry to hear of his passing, hoping when I venture to the Lord, we will cross paths again, may the Lord Bless all the family.
