Janet Jackson Obituary
PEORIA - Janet Marie Jackson, 27, of Peoria passed away peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011, at 11 a.m. surrounded by her family.
She was born on May 18, 1983, in Peoria to Earl Jackson Sr. and Jeanette Dillard Jackson Berry.
Janet was a member of Holy Tabernacle COGIC.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory her father, Earl Sr. (Denise) Jackson of Peoria; her mother, Jeanette Berry of Peoria; one son, Jalin Postlewaite of Peoria; one daughter, Andrea Williams of Peoria; eight brothers, Earl R. Jackson, Lorenzo Jackson, Cortez Harper, Arsenio Berry, James Berry Jr., Demetrius Jackson and Demarshal Johnson, all of Peoria, and Earl Jackson Jr. of Irving, Texas; nine sisters, Monique Berry of Peoria, Rochelle Criss, Rochawanna Criss, Tacira Coleman, Trisha Berry, Valarie (Cortez) Blake, April Jackson and Zabrina Harper, all of Peoria and Relanda (Cortez) Clark of Dallas, Texas; and other aunts, uncles, cousins, close family members and dear friends.
Her brother, Brandon Martin; two sisters, Feliza McElmurry and Vernice Berry; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Henry and Grace Rayford and Albert Dillard, preceded her in death.
Services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011, at 2 p.m., with visitation commencing one hour prior to service at 1 p.m. at T.W. Parks Colonial Chapel. The Rev. Simon Holly will officiate. Repast will be held at Prince of Peace following services. Cremation will be accorded. Family will receive friends at 1619 Circle Road, Peoria.
A memorial fund has been established at CEFCU in c/o Janet Jackson.
T.W. Parks Colonial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

I'm sorry that I was not at Janet's funeral, but I only recently heard about her passing. I know it's hard to understand why people are taken from us when they're so young, but you should find comfort in knowing that Janet touched so many people in her short life. I was her cheerleading coach at Loucks, and I remember what a sweet, helpful young woman she was. Heaven has welcomed a new angel.
