CARLOCK - Marlin Jeffrey "Jeff" Poole, 53, of Carlock and Lake Bloomington, passed away on Friday, Dec. 26, 2014.
Jeff's celebration of life service will be held at 10 a.m. today, Dec. 31, 2014, at Eastview Christian Church in Normal, with Pastor Jason Sniff officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Bloomington Rock School, Parklands Foundation or the American Heart Association.
Jeff was born on March 3, 1961, in Normal, Ill., the son of Marlin B. and Mary Brown Poole. He married Celeste Ehrhardt of Eureka on Feb. 26, 1983.
He is survived by his parents, Marlin B. and Mary Poole of Lake Bloomington; his two children, Lindsey (Jeff Boitnott) Poole of Mackinaw and Alex Poole of Carlock; his sister, Kelly (Kevin Kane) Poole of Ames, Iowa; and fiance, Shannon Duvendack of Lake Bloomington.
Jeff was a 1979 graduate of Normal Community High School and worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 30 years. He began his postal career in Bloomington, served as Postmaster in Lincoln and most recently managed the Postal Vehicle Maintenance Department in Peoria.
Jeff was a member of the Chenoa Baptist Church and attended Eastview Christian Church in Normal.
Jeff was a proud member of the Sons of the American Revolution and NAPUS (National Association of Postmasters of the U.S.).
He was an accomplished musician who passed his talent on to his children, Lindsey and Alex. He shared his passion for music with all through his two bands, The Associates and Country Bella. When he wasn't entertaining with his guitar, you could find him on a lake fishing or in the woods. Jeff had a deep respect for nature. He loved and enjoyed life to the fullest, but most of all, he had a "BIG" love for his family and countless friends.
