John M. VanAusdall
CHILLICOTHE - John M. VanAusdall, 69, of Chillicothe passed away on Thursday evening, April 19, 2018, at UnityPoint Health-Methodist.
John was born on June 2, 1948, in Bloomington, the son of Clarence A. and Dorothea (Carroll) VanAusdall.
Surviving are his wife, whom he married on August 24, 1968, in Peoria; his children, Joseph VanAusdall of Chillicothe, Mike VanAusdall of Chillicothe and Matthew (Cesilia) VanAusdall of Peoria; four granddaughters, Ashley, Samantha, Aliyah and Angela; two grandsons, Noah and Tyler; one great-granddaughter, Abby; one sister, Judy Bell of Peoria; three brothers, Tony VanAusdall of Custer, S.D., Jim (Lori) Williams of Dekalb and Mark Williams of Peoria; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Chris; brother, Bill; and two sisters-in-law.
John worked for Caterpillar Tractor Company for 35 years, after he retired he worked for O'Reilly's in Chillicothe. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He loved to fish and travel to Astoria to his property to hunt and spend time with his buddy, Jimmy.
A visitation for John will be held on Sunday, April 22, 2018, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe.
Memorials may be made in John's name in memory of his mother and father to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
