Joshua Olt Obituary
DUNLAP - Joshua Alexander Olt, 16, of Dunlap passed away at 7:06 p.m. Sunday, April 29, 2012, at the Proctor Hospital emergency room.
Josh was born Aug. 22, 1995, in Peoria. He was the beloved son of Blake and Tamara (Lussenhop) Olt and a best friend and brother to Zachary Olt.
Also surviving are his grandparents, Patricia Olt, John and Beverly Lussenhop, Linda Wolters and Christine Winter; his great-grandparents, Alma Cooper and Olive Olt; aunts, Kim Lussenhop, Nari Olt and Wendy Palermo; and uncles, Joseph Hernandez and Anthony Hernandez. He also leaves his cousins, Jake Callahan, Ronnie Mohica, Jeremy Mohica and Michael Mohica; and a half-sister, Brittany Olt.
From an early age Joshua always had a positive impact on those who knew him whether it be family, friends or classmates. Beginning in elementary school and throughout his current years at Dunlap High, many will remember that Joshua was a loving and loyal friend, who embraced all his relationships with his beautiful smile, magnetic sense of humor and a laughter that will resonate in the hearts, minds and memories of everyone that loved him.
Joshua attended Dunlap Community High School, where he was a sophomore. His friends and classmates will miss his kindness, gentle heart and infectious smile. The halls of Dunlap High School will be a little quieter now without his lively, energetic voice and laughter.
Joshua loved music, cars and playing guitar. He had a special place in his heart for rescuing animals. His three cats, Chuck, Ellie and Mickey, and his two dogs, Abby and Brownie, will miss his tender and nurturing touch.
Joshua, you are loved and will forever be missed. Your spirit will live throughout each and every one of us that have loved you, forever.
His visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 4, 2012, at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Cremation will follow the visitation. A celebration of life memorial service will then be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 19, 2012, in the auditorium of Dunlap Community High School.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Joshua Olt Memorial Fund for drug awareness in care of Heartland Bank, 9010 N. Allen Road, Peoria, IL 61615.

Oh how we miss r baby josh . When Halloween come I miss him running across the street helping me decorate. I miss getting on him for eating outside lol lol lol lol . Dear Josh,
I am so sorry I didn't have the chance to meet you in this life. Because of you, I have become very close to your parents, especially your amazing mom. We work to keep your memory (and those of so many other beloved people) alive and to ensure that your death has meaning. Your mom has saved countless lives through the work she does with the JOLT foundation. She has helped me with my work with Broken No More and GRASP. Together, we hope to ease the path for those who have lost or will lose someone so very dear to them, and to prevent future losses.
Your smile, your joyfulness is a light in the world, though you are just beyond reach. Please let your mom and dad and those who love you and miss you so much to feel your presence tomorrow on your birthday.

To Tammy , Blake words can not describe the way we feel. I watch josh , zack, brittney. Grow up. Josh was so sweet. When the twins would go to school I leave the door open cause josh was comming to eat breakfast or just sit and talk. R hearts r heavy. So many memory we have of our josh. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I only was around Josh one time but i will always remember that day as he asked if Kim would go with him so he could drive since he just got his permit. Kim and i were scared a few minutes into it when he pushed the gas instead of the brake. He made me laugh in the short time i was around him so i am sure he touched the lives of many people.
