Congerville native and Eureka resident was 110

EUREKA - Mae Schrock (Lydia Mae), 110, of Eureka, Ill., formerly of Congerville, Ill., passed away at 6:35 a.m. on Friday, July 18, 2014, at the Apostolic Christian Home in Eureka.

She was born on May 1, 1904, in Congerville, Ill., a daughter of Jonathan and Naomi Gerber Schrock.

Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and -nephews, great-great-nieces and -nephews and great-great-great-nieces and -nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and three sisters.

Mae lived in Altadena, Calif., from 1949 to 1957, where she was employed as an accountant for Osogood candy manufacturer. She was a retired accountant for Schrock Brothers Company in Congerville.

Mae was baptized on May 25, 1919, in the Mackinaw River at the Congerville Apostolic Christian Church.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Apostolic Christian Home in Eureka for the compassion, care and love they showed there to Aunt Mae Schrock.

Mae was a member of the Congerville Apostolic Christian Church, where funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Sunday, July 20, 2014. Church ministers officiated. Visitation was held Sunday, July 20, 2014, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Apostolic Christian Home in Eureka, with additional visitation from 12 to 12:45 p.m. Sunday, July 20, 2014, at the Congerville Apostolic Christian Church. Burial was in the Goodfield/Congerville Apostolic Christian Cemetery.

Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka, Ill., handled the arrangements for the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Apostolic Christian Home in Eureka.
