Martha Vaughn Obituary

PEORIA - Martha L. Vaughn, 83, of Peoria passed away Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2010, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.

She was born April 8, 1927, in Kentucky, a daughter of Jesse and Wanda Johnson Skaggs. She married Eugene Vaughn on June 24, 1967, in Peoria. He survives.

Also surviving are three children, Betty (Chuck) Jenkins of Peoria, Connie Hedman of Sapulpa, Okla., and Mike Simmons of Sand Springs, Okla.; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three sisters; and one brother.

She was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers and sisters.

Martha was employed by International Paper Co. in Peoria and later retiring from FP Webkote Inc. in Peoria.

She was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 11, 2010, at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. The Rev. Douglas Lightly will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the chapel. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.

Dear Betty,
I have such good memories of us during our teen years, I especially liked your Mom and her sense of humor and always giving me a ride to work at Hunt's. I have always hoped I would be able to contact you but certainly not in this way. My condolences to you and your family during this difficult time.
