Dear Martha and LuAnn,
We are very sorry to hear that your mother died last week. We've been in Miami since the first of the month and are very sorry that we were not able to attend the visitation or funeral for Mary. Our memories of her always include her smiling face, her sense of humor, her role as church secretary, singing in the choir and her sharing her rhubarb with us each June. We will miss her and extend our sympathies to you. It is very difficult to lose a parent and we will keep you in our prayers, praying that your faith will give you strength, hope and peace.

Dear Martha and LuAnn,
I just heard the sad news about your mother. I'd also heard about the bad luck she'd had falling twice, so I sent her a note recently hoping it would cheer her a bit. I liked your Mom and always enjoyed talking to her. It was a shock to me and seems too soon. She will definitely be missed.
Sincerely,
Steve

Martha and LuAnn,
We are so sorry to hear of your Moms passing. She and your Dad were such special friends. I don't know if you knew that they gave us our marriage license as a wedding gift, 45 years ago this summer. We have so many fond memories of her. She had such a wonderful sense of humor and a heart warming laugh. I will always think of her on May 1st. Between my sister Lucille, myself, and Marnie, there are over 50 years of our annual May Baskets for her and lots of kisses. We will miss her. We are visiting Eric in Cincinnati and won't be with you in person, but you are in our thoughts and prayers. You have our heartfelt sympathy.
