WASHINGTON - Nathaniel S. Rhoades, 21, of Keithsburg, Ill., stepson of a Washington man, died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2011, from injuries received in an automobile accident near Keithsburg.
Visitation will be Monday, Feb. 7, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Keithsburg First Christian Church. Funeral service will be Tuesday, Feb. 8, at 10 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Greenmound Cemetery in Keithsburg.
Memorials may be left for the Mercer County DARE program.

He was born Feb. 6, 1989, in Galesburg, Ill., the son of Scott and Mardeana Hawn Norris.
Survivors include his mother, Mardeana DeRoo of Keithsburg, Ill.; father, Scott Norris of Chicago; stepfather, John Rhoades of Washington, Ill.; four siblings, Danelle Rhoades and Taylor DeRoo, both of Keithsburg and Katherine Rhoades and Kaleb Rhoades, both of Washington, Ill.; and grandparents, Don and Iris Hawn of Keithsburg and Jim and Jean Norris of Arizona.

My deepest condolences to the entire family on this tragic and senseless loss of Nathan, who was always such a sweet soul. Mardeana, Scott & Danelle ~ I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. There are simply no words that can express a pain so deep. May family and friends surround you all and help you to survive the days ahead, moment by moment. To all of the extended family, Hawn & Norris grandparents, stepparents who love Nathan as their own, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends ~ So very sorry for the pain and loss you are suffering. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you, and I weep with you over this tragedy. Godspeed sweet Nathan. You will be deeply missed by all.
