WASHINGTON - Patrick Lee "Pat" McCann, 75, of Washington passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2021, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born on March 28, 1945, in Washington to Francis M. and Virginia L. (Mammen) McCann. He married Dawne E. (Schmitt) Bristol on September 24, 1994, in Chillicothe. She survives.
Pat is also survived by his three step-children, Timothy (Amy) Bristol of Winchester, VA, and Russell (Kim) Bristol and Leslie (Ashley) Bristol, both of Washington; step-daughter-in-law, Theresa Bristol of Elmwood; 10 step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy Rager of LaSalle; two brothers, Henry (Marilyn) McCann of Washington and Mike (Lynn) McCann of Peoria; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-son, Thomas D. Bristol; brother, Jim McCann; sister, Marilyn Sieg; and brother-in-law, Harold Sieg.
Pat served his country in both the United States Air Force Reserves and the United States Army Reserves. He worked for 47 years as a pipefitter for Keystone Steel and Wire in Bartonville, retiring in 2016.
Pat was a member of Our Saviors Chapel in Peoria, the Forest Park Nature Center in Peoria, the Survivors of Suicide Program and the Sunnyland Phoenix AA Group. Pat loved music; he played the guitar and even enjoyed time in a band with his brother when they were younger. He was also a train aficionado. Pat was a people person; he was always ready to meet and talk to people. Pat had a kindness about him that everyone who met and knew him will always cherish.
Pat's funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 12, 2021, at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. The Rev. Chip Roland will officiate. His visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m., also on Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Forest Park Nature Center.
