MACKINAW - Patrick Bruce Edmond Mountjoy, 64, of Mackinaw, Ill., passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015, surrounded by family.
Pat was born Nov. 10, 1950, in Bloomington, Ill., to Wayne and Marie Therese (Jossa) Mountjoy. He married his loving wife, Marsha, on Oct. 23, 1999.
Pat was employed by Caterpillar Inc. for 31 years, retiring in 1999.
Pat loved his family and enjoyed being "Pop" to his grandkids.
Over the years, Pat enjoyed car shows and Corvettes; playing softball; reliving basketball days and all of the trouble he got into with his brother, Slim; fried chicken and sweets; mushroom hunting; a cold Casey's soda; sharing his meals with his four-legged pal, Daisy; Allis Chalmers tractors and antique tractor pulls.
Everyone was "his old buddy"; he knew how to make people feel special and loved making people laugh.
Pat received Christ as his savior in 1993 and grew strong in his faith.
He was a member of New Castle Bible Church, where he cherished his church family and enjoyed mentoring young boys through Awana. A highlight in his walk with the Lord was a short-term missionary trip to Ecuador. Pat loved the Lord and telling others about Him.
Pat is survived by his wife, Marsha. Also surviving are his children, Tawnya Mountjoy of East Peoria, Mindy Mountjoy (fiance, Mark Lord) of Washington, Benjamin "The Boy" Mountjoy of Mackinaw, Dawn (Matt) Winhold of Waterloo, Iowa, Nathan Carl of Mackinaw and Michael (Cherri) Carl of Eagle Ridge, Mich. Also surviving are a sister, Annette Hoover of Indianola, Iowa; a brother, Paul (Deb) Mountjoy of Mackinaw; and a sister, Michelle Troyer of Minier. "Pop" loved and adored his grandchildren, Kierston, Luke, Davon, Gabe, Ryan and Ava.
Pat was preceded in death by his father, Wayne; his mother, Marie Therese; and his brother, Pierre.
Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. today, Feb. 15, 2015, at New Castle Bible Church, located at 17931 Dee-Mack Road, Mackinaw. Funeral will be held Monday, Feb. 16, at 10 a.m. at New Castle Bible Church. Haensel Funeral Home in Mackinaw is assisting the family with arrangements. Burial will be at New Castle Bible Church Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to New Castle Bible Church.

So very sorry to hear the news about Pat. We often saw each other at CancerCare and he was always so positive and looked so healthy. I still look for his face every three weeks, when I am there for maintenance therapy. He was such a nice person. My heart goes out to you, Marsha. You lost a great love.
