PRINCEVILLE - Ray J. "Junior" Kitterman, 86, of Princeville, formerly of Wyoming, passed away at 10:42 p.m. on Saturday, February 10, 2018, at St. Joseph Nursing Home in Lacon.
Ray was born on December 16, 1931, in Wyoming, a son of Ray Edwin and Elizabeth (Beck) Kitterman. He married Mary Louise Hegwood on June 21, 1952, in Wyoming. She survives.
Also surviving are two children, Mickey Duane Kitterman of St. Louis, MO, and Michelle (Denny) McGinn of Princeville; seven grandchildren, Lisa (Chad) Hughes, Dru (Stephanie) Kitterman, Amber Presley, Ashley Kitterman, Sean (Rachel) McGinn, Chad McGinn and Corey (Nikki) McGinn; 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Patsy Newton of Wyoming; two brothers, John Kitterman and Larry (Gloria) Kitterman, both of Wyoming; one daughter-in-law, Robin Kitterman of Elmira; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Anthony "Tony" Kitterman.
Ray worked for 38 years as a lineman for CILCO. He started as a journeyman and retired in 1991 as a crew leader.
He was a previous member of Wyoming United Methodist Church and Allendale Conservation Club. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He volunteered to coach in his children's and grandchildren's summer baseball leagues and basketball leagues. He also was a Cub Scouts Scoutmaster for years. Some of his passions were woodworking and carving, breaking in and training his horses and dancing with his bride, the love of his life.
A memorial service will be at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 15, 2018, at Haskell-Hott Funeral Homes in Princeville. The Rev. Tammy Shane will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will take place at a later date in Wyoming Cemetery.
