BARTONVILLE - Robert David "Bob" Quick Sr., 80, of Bartonville passed away Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012, surrounded by family.
He was born on July 27, 1932, in Hanna City, a son of Clarence and Margaret (Kruse) Quick. He married Shirley Ann Atkinson on Oct. 18, 1952, in Peoria, Ill. She survives.
Also surviving are five daughters, Mary Sarnes of Pekin, Diane (Ted) Daniels of Pekin, Loretta (Kevin) Ellington of Bartonville, Sarah (Jerry) Parks of Canton and Amy Gingery of Peoria; and four sons, David Quick of Rio, Wis., Mark (Ginger) Quick of Mapleton, Robert (Kelly) Quick Jr. of Bartlett, Ill., and Brad (Cindy) Quick of Mapleton; 25 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Kenny (Betty) Quick of Hanna City; and one sister-in-law, Doris Quick of Peoria.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, one sister and his beloved daughter-in-law, Doris Quick of Rio, Wis.
He worked for Caterpillar Inc. for 43 years.
He attended Manual High School and served in the U.S. Army 45th Division during the Korean War before being honorably discharged.
Bob enjoyed gathering with family members to play games or watch baseball. He was a lifelong St. Louis Cardinals fan.
He was also a dedicated member of TOPS.
Bob will be remembered for his love of family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012, at St. Ann's Church in Peoria, with Father Heinz officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria and also one hour prior to Mass. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, where military rites will be accorded. The family requests that you wear your favorite sports baseball shirt to the visitation.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Ann's Building Fund, American Kidney Association or the Parkinson Alliance.
