PEORIA - Ronald Arthur Schlis, age 65, formerly of Peoria, died peacefully on Tuesday, April 17, 2012, in St. Charles, Mo.
Ron was born and raised in Peoria, Ill., the son of Minnie and Arthur Schlis, and attended Manual High School and Bradley University.
He also proudly served in the Unites States Navy.
After living in Colorado, Ron returned to central Illinois and enjoyed many years working for McCloud Services in Pekin, Ill. Most recently, Ron made his home in Wentsville, Mo.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents.
Ron is survived by his sister, Nancy Linebaugh (Dale) of Peoria, Ill.; his daughter, Krysta Schlis (Jae) of Stanford, Calif.; three grandchildren; one nephew; two nieces; and many wonderful friends.
Cremation rites have been accorded, with a memorial service to be held on Friday, May 18, 2012, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Mo.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Nancy and family,

Ron & I were classmates at Calvin Coolidge, Roosevelt, & Manual. I especially remember his great smile & laugh..... just a wonderful person.

We all had a lot of great times together growing up, fishing in Minnesota, watching old home videos and visiting back and forth all those years. We will miss him but will keep him in our hearts and memories forever.
