Sharon Mihelick Obituary
METAMORA - Sharon Ruth Mihelick, 61, of Metamora passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2016, at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Sharon was born on May 26, 1955, in Decatur, IL, to Frederick Harrison Searfoss and Blodwyn Elizabeth (Moses) Searfoss. Both parents preceded her in death. She married Douglas S. Mihelick on October 15, 1983, in Peoria, IL. He survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Megan Rose Mihelick of Prospect Heights, IL; one sister, Susan Elizabeth (Searfoss) Barger of Decatur, IL; and one brother, Brian Harrison Searfoss of St. Louis, MO.
She grew up in Decatur, IL, and after graduating with an accounting degree from Illinois State University, joined Peoria based accounting firm, Clifton Gunderson. She worked in various positions at Clifton Gunderson and Larson Allen accounting firms over the years. She will be remembered as a loving and dedicated wife, mother and best friend. She enjoyed travel, reading, gardening and her beloved labradoodle, Cindy.
The family will have a private memorial celebration of her life. Memorial gifts can be made to the American Cancer Society. The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co., Pekin/Peoria, is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at csmico.com.

Doug and Megan, I'm sorry about Sharon. I knew her a short while before I left Illinois, but she and Doug were quite a good pair and I missed them greatly; and wish I would have stayed in touch more. I pray for your strength in this time and I have faith that Doug will give you all the love he has.
