Sonny Holmes Obituary
MORTON - Howard Marshall "Sonny" Holmes III, 52, of Morton, formerly of Washington, passed away at 2:25 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 24, 2016, at his residence.
Sonny was born on July 31, 1963, in Peoria, Ill., to Howard Marshall Jr. and Betty Stinson Holmes. They survive of Washington. He married Rita Parish on July 1, 2006, in Washington. She survives.
He is also survived by his son, Howard "Fuzzy" Holmes IV of Washington; stepchildren, Julene (Tim) Schrock, Renae Bergman and Nikki Maxheimer, all of Washington; sisters, Dixie (Ron) Thomas of Grinnell, Iowa, and Shelley (Denny) Hartman of Sunnyland; stepgrandchildren, Taylor Lulay, Dane Schrock, Cash Schrock and Haylee Walker; many nieces and nephews; and his special pets, Harlee and Jax.
Sonny was a crazy die-hard Cardinal fan.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
A memorial service for Sonny will be held on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016, at 1 p.m. at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Pastor Wilmer Houck will officiate. There will be a visitation prior to the service, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

this is haylee that was my grampa sonny i loved him with alllllllll my heart and he was the only grampa i really had growing up and i just cant even say how much i really miss him he was such a good guy he always would work everyday and he would come home with a mile on his face even if it a really bad day and he wouldput everyone in the best of mood and he would always have just enough time to spend time with me and my grama to even though me and grampa always picked on grama all the time she knows that we love her to there are so many times and memorys we had together grampa i will never let them go!... so to my grampa "i miss and love you so so so so so so so much" i think about you everyday literally "I love you"!
