Steve Harper Obituary
WASHINGTON - Steve Harper, 64, of Washington, IL, died at 11:04 a.m. Monday, December 3, 2018, at his residence.
Born on October 11, 1954, in Peoria, IL, to Earl and Shirley Jean Heberer Harper, he married Carlene Rickard on April 28, 1979, in Peoria.
Surviving are his wife, Carlene; his mother, Shirley Harper; siblings, Bill, Vern, Mike and Debbie; special nephew, Brett, along with several other nieces and nephews; a brother-in-law; and his sheltie, Whisper.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Bob; and his father.
Steve graduated from Central High School in Peoria. He retired from Komatsu after 35 years of service. Steve enjoyed duck hunting, fishing with his brother and nephew, and vacationing in Wisconsin with his sheltie dogs, which he loved. He was a member of Taylor Lodge 98 in Washington. Steve was very generous to others, always helping anyone in need.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, December 8, 2018, at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

MY CONDOLENCES TO ALL OF THE HARPER FAMILY. I WAS SHOCKED AND VERY SADDENED TO HEAR OF STEVES PASSING. I HAD THE HONOR TO HAVE WORKED WITH STEVE AT KOMATSU FOR YEARS. WITH STEVE THERE IT WAS A BETTER PLACE TO BE. HE MADE WORKING THERE A BLAST AND LAUGHS EVERYDAY. STEVE IS MY FRIEND AND MOST OF ALL MY BROTHER. LOVE YOU MAN AND MISS YOU. REST IN PEACE MY BROTHER I HAVE A TON OF GREAT MEMORIES TO HELP ME EVERY DAY.
