William Allenbaugh Obituary

William Allenbaugh
PEORIA - William Harold Allenbaugh, 68, of Chapel Hill, NC, formerly of Peoria, passed away Monday, October 31, 2016 at his residence.
Bill was born November 26, 1947 in Chicago (Niles), Illinois the son of William H. and Grace (Lein) Allenbaugh. I worked with Bill in Caterpillar Global Purchasing. He was solid, earnest, humorous and a great example setter for others. It was true pleasure to have known him.

As a high school friend of daughter Emily and neighbor, I spent some time at the Allenbaugh household, back in the day. Mr Allenbaugh was very kind and gracious! He always made me feel welcomed in his home and tolerated our silliness! His smile was his magic!
Emily, Josh, Jennifer, Jake, Drew, Aunt Janie and all his family,
Very sorry for your loss.
Love you all.

My heartfelt sympathy goes out to Bill's family. I will never forget his kindness, understanding and personal support. Bill was my foreman at Caterpillar Bldg KK when I wanted to put in my 2 week notice to quit and go back to college. He talked me into checking into the apprentice course of which I graduated from as a Machine Repairman (second choice to electrician). I went on to work 36 years there and assisted in piloting Vibration Analysis Program at Mossville, IL plant that grew to encompass several facilities and technologies (including metrology, oil analysis, thermography) for 15 years until it was dismantled by management from Lafayette, IN that had no clue and tried to contract to outside companies that could never make it work. Thank you, Bill! Godspeed my friend. I have never forgotten you!
