William Guede Obituary

LACON - William H. Guede, 92, of Lacon died Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015, at UnityPoint Health-Proctor in Peoria.

Born on Nov. 24, 1922, to the late Herman and Virginia Blackburn Guede in Lacon, he married Beverly Tool on Dec. 13, 1947, in Lacon.

Bill worked in the lumber industry for over 50 years, working for local yards such as Miller Lumber and Allen Lumber. Bill was also part owner in B&D Lumber, past post commander for Walter Guede American Legion Post 593, lifetime 15 Club member, former president of Lacon Businessmen's Association and a member of Put-Mar-Wood Association.

William is survived by his daughters, Susan (Gary) Webber of Peoria and Diane (Rick) Roberts of Low Point; sister, Dorothy McAllister of Lacon; grandchildren, Jeannine (Tony) Becerra of Kansas City, Kan., Marta (Chris) Herget of Dunlap, Brittney (Brad) Palmer of Wexford, Pa., Darrick (Jennifer) Robinson of Durango, Colo., and Danelle (Troy Steeg) Robinson of Chillicothe; and nine great-grandchildren.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a graveside service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 19, at 9 a.m. at the Lacon Cemetery, with Bob Murphy officiating.

Memorials can be left to the charity of your choice in his name.
