PEKIN - William Wade "Bill" Hacker, 59, of 1409 Bellaire St. passed away at 11:24 a.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at his home after a long battle with lung cancer.
Born August 24, 1951, in Pekin, to Robert W. and Marie "Toots" (Simpson) Hacker, he married Stacie Gleason on February 27, 1987, in Washington. She survives.
Also surviving are his parents of Pekin; one son, William Edward Hacker of Granton, Wisconsin; and one sister, Virginia "Jenny" (Paul) Anderson of Mark.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Logan Mikel Hacker.
Bill attended Faith Missionary Church in Bartonville. He worked as a security guard for the Par-A-Dice Hotel and Casino in East Peoria for 10 years. He was a member of the Empire Lodge 126, Ancient Free & Accepted Masons of Pekin. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and fishing.
Masonic services followed by funeral services will be at 5 p.m. Friday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Craig Hislope will officiate. Visitation will be from 3 to 4:45 p.m. prior to the funeral.
Cremation will be accorded following the funeral. Military rites will be accorded by the United States Army and the Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team following the funeral.
Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society, 4234 N. Knoxville Ave., Peoria, IL, 61614 or to Methodist Medical Center Hospice Services, 221 NE Glen Oak Ave., Peoria, IL 61636.
