Bill was a good man and I knew him from the church and from his visits (for coffee and pie) at the Varna Mid-Way Cafe run by my mother in the 1950's. I used to watch him on his tractor, tilling the field just across the railroad tracks south of our house. He would always wave to me and my brothers Jack and D.W. as he made his rounds. He was one of the older guys that we kids didn't have to be afraid of.

God Bless!
