Frank J. Guida, 63, of Kresgeville, formerly of Brooklyn, N.Y., passed away on Friday, Feb. 17, at St. Clare's Hospital, Hospice Unit, in Dover, N.J. He was the husband of Francis DiLiberto Guida, whom he was married to for 44 years.
Born on March 21, 1942, in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of the late Frank and Mary Biasco Guida.
He worked in the Maintenance Department for the New York City Transit Authority in New York City for 23 years before retiring in 1986.
He was in the United States Army Reserve.
He was a softball coach at St. Bernard's Catholic Church for the Girls All-Star Softball and Travelling Team in Brooklyn, N.Y.
With his love of antique cars, he was a member of the Antique Car Club in Brooklyn, N.Y., where he showed his 1958 Chevy Impala, winning many first-place trophies.
He was of the Catholic faith.
In addition to his loving wife, Francis, he is survived by two loving children, Ann Marie Guida and her fiancé, Vincent Chiaramonte, of Effort, and Frank Guida of Kunkletown; a brother, Robert Guida, of Brooklyn, N.Y.; a step-brother, Ralph Guida, of Long Island, N.Y.; his step-mother, Patricia Guida, of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and six grandchildren, Amanda and Anthony Tejada, Frank and Dalton Guida, and Vincent and Gina Chiaramonte.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary D. Guida, who passed away in 1990.
A viewing will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 20, and from 9 to 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 21, at the Donald N. Gower Funeral Home Inc., Route 209, Gilbert. Services will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Gilbert, with the Rev. Father William J. McCawley as celebrant. Interment will be in the Gilbert Cemetery, Gilbert.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society Monroe Unit, RR2, Box 2138, Stroudsburg, PA 18360.
