Gerard Ziesse Obituary

Gerard F. Ziesse, 94, of Scotrun, passed away quietly on Wednesday, Aug. 29, at the Morris View Nursing Home in Morris Plains, N.J. He was the husband of the late Clara (Krause) Ziesse.

Born on May 19, 1913, in Bronx, N.Y., he was the son of the late Orion and Katherine (Scullion) Ziesse.

He was a tool and die maker, having worked for Jennings Engineering in Philadelphia and Bradley Engineering in southern New Jersey.

Following retirement in 1978, he and his wife, Clara moved to the Poconos where they enjoyed many great years together.

Clara passed away in May, 2004, following a 63-year marriage.

He was a member of Calvary Bible Church in East Stroudsburg.

Surviving are sons, Norman Ziesse and his wife, Kathleen of Chester, N.J. and Douglas Ziesse and his wife, Deborah of Villa Ridge, Mo.; grandchildren, Raymond Ziesse and his wife, Michelle of Chester, N.J., Karen Burrows of Bedminster, N.J., Jamie Ziesse of Villa Ridge, Mo., Jennifer Collins and her husband, Cody of Washington, Mo. and Jeffrey Ziesse of Villa Ridge, Mo.; and great-grandchildren, Tyler and Jordan Ziesse and Kade Collins.

He was predeceased by a grandson; three brothers; and a sister.

Family and friends are invited to a calling period from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 1, at the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, 27 Washington St., East Stroudsburg, PA 18301. The Rev. Christopher Smith will officiate a funeral service at 2 p.m. on Saturday, at the funeral home. Cremation will take place after the service at H.G. Smith Crematory.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Calvary Bible Church, 9 Three Points Garden Road, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301.

Karen and I had the great opportunity to meet Gerarad recently and enjoyed our time together in the nursing home. It was very enjoyable and great to see the love he had for Karen.

I was very happy to get to see him. It is great to know that he his in a great spot with the Lord
