Jean L. Telfair, 70, of Stroudsburg, died Friday, April 23, at her home. She was the loving wife of Herman L. Telfair with whom she had celebrated 50 golden years of marriage.
Born in New York City, N.Y., she had resided in Queens, N.Y., and for the past five years, lived in Stroudsburg. Prior to that, she lived in the Medford, N.Y. area for 26 years.
Jean was a sales representative for AT&T Company in New York for 40 years, retiring in 1991. She was a member of St. Luke's Catholic Church in Stroudsburg.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Kevin R. Telfair and his wife Sharon of Stroudsburg, and Darren R. Telfair of Long Beach, Calif.; one sister, Marlene Dogan of Queens, N.Y.; two grandchildren, Catherine and Raphael; a special sister-in-law, Claudette Telfair of Hempstead, N.Y.; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, Steven Telfair who died in 1973.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 27, at St. Luke's Catholic Church, Main St., Stroudsburg. The Rev. Father Carmen Perry will serve as celebrant. Burial will be in the Gates of Heaven section of Laurelwood Cemetery, Stroudsburg.
Visitation will take place from 8:30 a.m. until time of the services on Tuesday at Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, 23 N. Ninth St., Stroudsburg.

Dear Herman, Kevin, & Darren,
So very sorry to hear the news of Jean's passing. We only found out today when Darren phoned. Please accept our deepest sympathy during this very difficult time. Keep the memories of Jean close to your heart and she will always remain with you. God Bless you all.
