Jeffrey Evans Obituary

Jeffrey L. Evans, 36, of Allentown, departed this life on Thursday, May 1.

He was born in Bridgeton, N.J., where he grew up and attended elementary and high school.

He was formerly employed with several large companies in the Pennsylvania area such as Liz Claiborne and Hayward Laboratory. His love for people and children led him to seek employment with the McDonald's franchise for many years, where he became shift supervisor and manager. He had an enthusiastic spirit for a great game of bowling, at which he was very talented, and as a family, he and his parents and siblings were members of various bowling leagues. He loved playing pool and was fond of raising pit bulls as pets.

Jeffrey was predeceased by his father, John L. Evans; his mother, LaVerne Evans; sister Paula Evans McCall; and a devoted nephew, F.D. McCall III.

He is survived by his two sons, Jeffrey L. Evans Jr. and Javon; five daughters, Jasmine, Jatavia, Jaquetta, Jada and Jhane; brothers John I., David, Keith, John M., Nathaniel, Steve, Karl, Pierre, Jermaine and Seth; sisters, Kathleen, Marjorie, Pamela, Kim, Tanya, Janae and Sheena; his stepmother Shelia Evans; his devoted friends, Tasha Worfford and Kristie Farmer; along with a host of relatives and friends. As a devoted father, brother and son he will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 10, from the Sray-Webster Funeral Home, 62 Landis Ave., at Carll's Corner, Upper Deerfield Township. The interment will be in Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Hopewell Township.

Friends may call from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Saturday prior to the services.

I take a breathe and its not there
All choked up my lungs won't release the air
My face is drenched have I been walking in rain
No I'm sorry it's the tears I cannot stop, my heart is in pain
I'm stiff my legs will not move or bend
I can't stand to walk alone, it feels like the end
Wait I hear your voice, I'm listening to what you have to say
Oh ok, you said keep praying until Jehovah's faithful day
I understand but I have to admit its a struggle for me
No way did I believe this is how it would be
Do me a favor and promise me one last thing
You'll remember the good times even when we thought we could sing

LOVE YOU LIL BRO

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

Daddy,

I wrote your name in the sky,
But the wind blew it away.

I wrote your name in the sand,
But the waves washed it away.

So I wrote your name in my heart And forever it will stay......R.I.P.

A childs Angel
Once upon a time there was a child ready to be born. So one day he asked god, "They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?"
God replied, "Among the many angels, I chose one for you. She will be waiting for you and will take care of you."
But the child wasn't sure he really wanted to go. "But tell me, here in Heaven, I don't do anything else but rap and make beats and ask for a cigarette every once in awhile, that's enough for me to be happy."
God smiled. "Your angel will sing for and will also smile for you everyday. And you will feel your angel's love and be happy."And how am I going to be able to understand when people tslk to me, the child continued, if I dont know the language that men talk?"
God patted him on the head and said,"Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will teach you how to speak."
the child was sad."And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?"
But God had an answer for that question too."Your angel will teach you how to pray.'
The baby then turned to God and asked, "I've heard that on earth there are bad men, who will protect me?"
Your angel will defend you even if it means risking its life!
"But I will always be sad because I will NOT see you anymore,"the child continued warily.
God smiled on the young one."Your angel will always talk to you about me and will teach you the way for you to come back to me, even though I will always be next to you.
At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from earth could already be heard. The child knew he had to start on his journey very soon. He asked God one more question, softly,Oh God, if I am about to leave now, Please tell me my angel's name.
God touched the child on the shoulder just before he departed and answered, "Your angel's name is of No importance.
You will simply call her MAMA.
Your One True Friend!

We were blessed with your presence for some time
Now the memory of you is what will always shine

But only for a little while will Jehovah let you rest
In the new system to come we again shall be blessed

Tears will be shed and pain will arise
But all these things come as no surprise

For you we will move to take faithful steps
Praying for forgiveness and leaving our regrets

There will be a lot to conquer and roads will be long
Yet we strive to sing Jehovah’s faithful song

So rest now our brother leaving this cruel world behind
Never the less you’ll be remembered in our hearts, our souls and our minds.
