Marc Yapaola Obituary

Marc Yapaola, 35, of East Stroudsburg, died Saturday, April 19, at home.

Born on July 31, 1967, in Jersey City, N.J., he was the son of Blanche Merola Yapaola of East Stroudsburg, and the late Gabriel Yapaola.

A resident of East Stroudsburg for the past six years, he lived most of his lifetime in Hackettstown, N.J. He was a member of Our Lady of the Mountain Roman Catholic Church, Schooley's Mountain, N.J.

He graduated from Joe Kubert School of Art in Dover, N.J., in May 1992. He struggled with a long-term illness with depression.

He had a passion for music, a love for art, and an appreciation for wild life.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by one brother, Joseph of Hackettstown, N.J.; and three sisters, Carol Shanahan of Cresco, JoAnn Gericke of East Stroudsburg, and Ann Marie McDowell of East Stroudsburg.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 24, at Our Lady of the Mountain Roman Catholic Church, Schooley's Mountain, N.J. The Rev. Father Arthur will officiate. Interment will be in Hackettstown Union Cemetery, Hackettstown, N.J.

Calling hours will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, Scala Memorial Home, 124 High St., Hackettstown, N.J.
