Marion Ace Obituary

Marion Ace
03/04/2021
Marion E. (Smith) Ace, 92, of Stroudsburg, died March 4, at LVHN-Pocono, East Stroudsburg.
Born at home in Swiftwater in 1928 to Hazel (Altemose Keiper) Smith Neyhart and Robert C. Smith, she lived in Monroe County her whole life. She was a graduate of Stroudsburg High School and worked at East Stroudsburg Savings Association for many years.
Marion raised her beloved daughters Barbara and Brenda with husband Earl "Hoe" Hughes. After his passing in 1973, she found love again with James L. Ace, of Stroudsburg. After raising daughter, Kelly, and retiring, she and Jim enjoyed traveling around the U.S. in their RV and spending time with friends.
Marion was an artist who belonged to the Pocono Arts Council. She also enjoyed sewing, needlework, and other creative pursuits.
Most recently, she was part of the Faith United Methodist Church family in Stroud Township. In the past, she attended East Stroudsburg United Methodist Church and Zion United Church of Christ, Stroudsburg. Community-minded, Marion was a former member of the Business and Professional Women's Association and volunteered at church, as well as at PATH and other local agencies.
Most of all, Marion loved her family. She is survived by husband, Jim; brother Robert Smith (Mary) of Stroudsburg; daughters Barbara Possinger of Stroudsburg and Kelly Ace of Wilmington, Del.; grandchildren Lisa Possinger-Robinson (Des) of East Stroudsburg, Lori Possinger, and Andrew Deihl (fiancée Racquel Rivero) of Stroudsburg; great-grandchildren Ashley Jones (fiancé Stephen Ruffino) and Nyshan Sadler; and great-great-grandchildren Ashton Jones and Braylynn, Brynnley, and Briar Ruffino. Marion was also blessed with many loving nieces, nephews, and, as well as many dear friends.
Marion was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather, Lawrence "Dutch" Neyhart, husband Earl Hughes, and daughter, Brenda (Hughes) Deihl.
The family would like to thank the healthcare team who provided such compassionate care during her struggle with COVID-19. In keeping with Marion's wishes, the family will hold a private memorial. Those wishing to extend their condolences may do so online through the William H. Clark Funeral Home website (www.wmhclarkfuneralhome.com).
