Miranda Peechatka Obituary

Miranda Peechatka Manelius, 89, of Oreland, formerly of Scotrun, passed away Sunday, Jan. 11, at St. Martha Manor in Downingtown. She was the wife of the late Carl W. Manelius, with whom she shared 51 years of marriage before his death in 1999.

Born and raised in Scotrun, Miranda was the daughter of the late Oscar and Anna (Heckman) Peechatka.

A 1931 graduate of Tannersville High School, she was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Scotrun. She was a homemaker and resident of Oreland for 53 years.

Surviving are one daughter, Sigrid E. Bruno of West Chester; one son, Carl. J. Manelius of Lancaster; two granddaughters, Lauren Manelius and Melissa Wilson; and two great-grandchildren.

Miranda's memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, at Christ's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 700 E. Pennsylvania Ave., Oreland. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, Scotrun Ave., P.O. Box 177, Scotrun, PA 18355.
