Richard H. Transue, 86, of Stroudsburg, died Tuesday morning, May 25, 2021, while under hospice care in his home . He was the husband of the late Beverly (Allen) Transue with whom he shared 43 years of marriage at the time of her death.
Born on April 14, 1935 in East Stroudsburg, he was a son of the late Russell C. and Grace (Repsher) Transue and was a lifetime resident of Monroe County.
He was a foreman and lineman for Met-Ed until retiring after 38 years of service.
Richard was a member of The Church of St. Luke in Stroudsburg.
His greatest pleasure was spending time with his family and he also enjoyed fishing, hunting and in his younger years, playing softball.
Surviving are his children, Diane M. LaBarre and husband Kim of Lancaster, Kenneth A. Transue and wife Lori of Whitehaven and Christine Eilenberger and significant other Mike Loney of Stroudsburg; ten grandchildren, April McFadden, Amy Hunter, Mathew LaBarre, Kristen LaBarre, Jesse Transue, Joe Transue, Zachery Transue, Hillary Moser, James M. Eilenberger and Richard P. Eilenberger; 13 great grandchildren; two brothers, Albert Transue of Easton and Ross Transue of East Stroudsburg; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Russell Transue and a sister, Norma Transue.
Services will be held on Monday, June 7th, from the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main St., Stroudsburg with visitation beginning at 10:00am followed by the funeral service at 11:00am with Chaplain Nathan King officiating. Burial will follow at Laurelwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances may be made to St. Judes Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis TN. 38105
