Vincenzo Musacchia Obituary

Vincenzo James Musacchia, 88, formerly of Kunkletown and Brookmont Health Care Center in Effort, passed away Monday, Aug. 3, at the Osprey Ridge Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Carbondale.

Vincenzo was the loving and devoted husband of Catherine Martino) Musacchia for 46 years.

He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Dec. 25, 1920, the son of the late Frank and Marianna Bullaro) Musacchia.

He had worked as a butcher for Heidi's Meat Market in Brooklyn, N.Y., for 22 years until retiring. He was a member of the Meat Cutters Union in New York City.

Vincenzo served our country with dedication and courage in the United States Navy Seabees during World War II.

He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Gilbert.

We have been blessed with the presence of Vincenzo in our lives and he will be deeply missed by his loving wife Catherine; his children: Marianna Giordano of Queens, N.Y., Stephen Musacchia and his wife, Maria, of Queens, N.Y., Tina Cianciatto and her husband, Louis, of Effort, Frank Musacchia and his wife, Raquel, of Effort, MaryJo Lopresti and her husband, John, of Staten Island, N.Y., Kathy Musacchia and her fiance, Bernard Jean Philippe, of Scranton, Mary Wanamaker and her husband, Michael, of Staten Island, N.Y., and Jaime Shapiro and her husband Adam, of Manalapan, N.J.; 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will begin 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, at the Donald N. Gower Funeral Home, Route 209, Gilbert, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Gilbert.

Viewings will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4; 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5; and from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, at the funeral home.

Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Vinnie was one man few & far in between always made you laugh & needed his coffee in the morning... Cared for him @ Brookmont Health Care, Vinnie will sadly be missed my thought & prayers are with his family.....
