Jane Long Obituary

Jane Long, age 87, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2012, at Pomerado Hospital. She was surrounded by her family and friends. Jane was born March 6, 1924, in Athen, Ohio, the daughter of Lucile and Russell Finsterwald.
Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Long, in 1987. They had just celebrated their 40th anniversary.
In 1990 Jane moved from Rochester, Michigan, to Rancho Bernardo. She was an avid golfer and quite involved in the Republican Party. She has continued to be very active with the Pi Beta Phi Alumnae Club, The Assistance League of Inland North County, The Questers/Rancho Monserate Chapter #1261, RB Community Presbyterian Church and numerous bridge groups. She always held many offices and was very dedicated to the "READY...SET...READ!" project sponsored by The Assistance League.
She is survived by a brother, Dow (Linda) Finsterwald of Colorado Springs, CO; children, Linda (Martin) Clements of Atchison, KS, and Russell Long of Birmingham, MI; four grandchildren, Matthew (Greisell) Clements of Mazatlan, Mexico, William Christopher Clements of Platte City, MO, Elizabeth Clements of Melbourne, Australia, and Audrey Long of Detroit, MI; and two great-grandchildren of Matthew and Greisell, Mia and Ian Clements.
She was a very beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all. We will miss her smile and wink!
A memorial service for Jane Long was held Tuesday, February 7, 2012, at the RB Community Presbyterian Church.

My heart goes out to Jane's family and friends. She certainly brightened my mother's life with her friendship. She'll be missed...and remembered fondly.
