Betty Carrel Burk

1949 - 2023

THAXTON - THAXTON - Betty Carrel Burk, 73, passed away March 7, 2023, at her home in Thaxton, MS after an extended illness. She was born December 29, 1949, to Mr. and Mrs. Winfred Gillen, Sr. She was a faithful Christian and member of Thaxton Baptist Church. She loved God, her family, and friends. Prior to retirement, she worked in the furniture industry. She enjoyed traveling, vacations to the beach, and spending time with family. She was a blessing to everyone that knew her and will always be remembered for her phrase "LOVE YOU MORE" which she would say every time anyone would tell her, I love you.

Betty is survived by her 2 daughters, Renea Martin(Randy) and Felicia Dobbs(Billy); 1 son, Jayden Hyland; 4 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Faye Wright and Patricia Bolen; 1 brother, Mike Gillen; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Randy Burk; her parents; and her brothers, Billy Gillen, James Gillen, Herbert Gillen, and Winfred Gillen, Jr.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 2PM at Thaxton Baptist Church with Bro. Glen Reeder officiating.
