Kenneth Vancil Obituary

PONTOTOC - James Kenneth Vancil, 75, passed away on November 17, 2024, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, MS. Kenneth devoted 40 years to the craft of jewelry repair at Shannon's Jewelry in Pontotoc. His passions included buying, selling, and trading of cars and trucks. Most importantly, he treasured his family and his dog, Alley.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Kay Baldwin Vancil; his son, Scott Vancil (Carla) of Pontotoc; two daughters, Tammy Cobb (Jimmy) and Tina Henderson (Dennis), also of Pontotoc; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Irene Weeden Vancil; two brothers, Andrew (Hooter) Vancil and Jerry Vancil; and a nephew, Andy Vancil.

The funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc, with Bro. Paul Sims and Bro. Bobby Cobb officiating. Visitation will start at 12 PM and continue until the service begins. Burial will follow in Baldwin Memorial Gardens. Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc is responsible for the arrangements.

Serving as pallbearers will be Dustin Vancil, Dylan Roberts, Collin Ferguson, and Jeremy Gates. Colton Henderson will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
