Richard Thomas "R.T." Roberson

1938 - 2017

Richard Thomas" R.T." Roberson, 78, resident of the Ripley Community and lifelong Tippah Countian, passed away Saturday evening April 8, 2017 at The Tippah County Hospital after an extended illness.

Services honoring the life of Mr. Roberson will be at 11 AM Tuesday, April 11 in The Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Harrison and Bro. Bob McKee officiating. Burial will follow in the Antioch Cemetery in Ripley.

Born April 14, 1938 in Tippah County, he was the son of the late John A. and Alma Jeter Roberson. Mr. Roberson was a member of Community Baptist Church and received his education at Center School in Tippah County. He married the former Ella Jean Richardson and they were blessed with 54 years together until her death on September 23, 2012. On April 14, 2014 he married the former Pat Fiveash Roberson, who survives.

Mr. Roberson will be remembered as a family man who enjoyed woodworking and collecting knives. He loved auctions and "good sales". His family commented that he always "bought bargains....he thought".

Visitation will continue today until service time at The Ripley Funeral Home.

Those also left to honor his memory are his wife and his children, Judy Roberson Johnson (Mike) of Ripley and Jimmy Dale Roberson (Lynn) of Blue Mountain, 2 step-children, Dawn Fiveash (Jeremy) of Olive Branch and Tim Fiveash (Jessica) of Trenton, UT, 3 sisters, Marie Shinall, Peggie Flake both of Pine Grove and Polly Pannell of Verona, a brother, Johnny Roberson of Ripley, 4 grandchildren, Kasie Dollar, Richard Roberson, Micah and Pierce Johnson, 4 step-grandchildren, Ben Mansfield, Conner, Kaitlyn and Hope Fiveash and a great granddaughter, Ella Grace Dollar. He was also preceded in death by 3 sisters, Betty Farmer, Scottie Thomas and Mattie Mauney and a brother, Alton Roberson.
