David Atkinson Obituary
David was born June 20, 1934, to the late David Aloysius and Katherine Mildred (Brogan) Atkinson in Jersey City, growing up in Winthrop Massachusetts, and graduating from North-Eastern University with a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Following his marriage in 1956 David was a member of the National Guard until joining E.I. DuPont Company in 1959 where he experienced a very successful career until his retirement in 1990.
His passing creates a void as he will be greatly missed by family and friends.
In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by his wife and life partner of 64 years, Janet Elaine Atkinson.
He is survived by children, Leigh Atkinson, David (Karen) Atkinson; granddaughter, Elizabeth (Eric) Trapp-Fruth; and great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Clara.

I just learned of David's passing. I am one of his cousins and saw Dave and Jan from time to time in Florida and elsewhere. A wonderful person and he will be missed.

It was a pleasure to care for David over the last decade. He was very patient and he was always reading. He missed his wife dearly in the last few years and now must be joyful to be reunited with her. I am very sorry for your family´s loss here on earth. Sincerely, Dr. Gaar
